Casa de Cardosi

I am up in Durango now, but still thinking about all the fun times down in Scottsdale.  I miss it already. At least I know they are all coming to see me here soon.
We celebrated Paul and Dad's birthday... I'm not sure why no one else was concerned about the fact that the cake was on fire.

Then I got to hang out with Uncle Cam on the air mattress. I hope I grow up big and strong like him someday. I think I am on my way, I mean check out my physique.

Then Aunt Nettie introduced me to my new best friend. He has red hair and is a little bit blue, but I don't judge. He is so funny. I love talking with him. He even came to Durango with us!

Sun Rays, Pool Days

Phoenix has been non-stop sunshine and relaxation. I love it here. I have all the attention of G.G., Nana and Aunt Nettie pretty much all the time.

I understand why they can't resist this...

Mom was very careful to keep me protected from the hot AZ sun.  I wore my shades and the hat from Kerri. Good look I think.

I had my surf outfit all picked out and ready... but there isn't any oceanfront property in Arizona it turns out. I just practiced on the table.

So, I went sans clothes and just enjoyed the first warm weather of my short years.

I am not ready to leave, thats for sure!

First Flight

Finally getting around to posting about my first flight! I really enjoyed it. It was actually really fun, I don't know what every one was worried about.  I slept, ate and tried to talk to the guy next to us. He was really funny but didn't really want to talk to me, oh well.

We have been having too much fun with Aunt Nettie, Paul and Cam to be sitting on the computer, but I will post all about the trip soon!

Driving to fort wayne

So we are in the car heading to nana and papa's for dads birthday. We encountered treacherous conditions on the way, huge hail, monsoon like downpours, tornado warnings and I was Hungry! I am so over this car ride.

Letter from Kerri

Here is a letter I received today from Kerri.  Safe to say, I am more excited than ever to head west. I am sure glad she cleared up the bears/ no bears issue for me. I was embarrassed to ask.

My Dear Beckett,

This is your friend Kerri, we met over your mom’s birthday. It’s ok if you don’t remember; you were working really hard to get rid of that mean cough when I saw you. I’m so glad you have been feeling better. I live far, far away near all the cowboys and Indians so I can’t see you very often. I’m so glad you keep us updated
by your blog, I check it all the time and get excited with each post and picture.

Soon something very special is going to happen….your very first trip to GG’s! You can also call it Bear Paw….but don’t worry there are no real bears inside her house. GG’s house is beautiful and so much fun! Know what the best part about Bear Paw is? All the friends that will be there to see you! Everyone will travel from all over the
country to meet at Bear Paw…. You never know which friends you will get to see. I will get to see you again there, I can’t wait to see how big you are and hold you.

I sent you a few things since this is your first trip and you may not be sure what to pack. It’s always a good idea to bring clothes for outdoor activities around Bear Paw. Soon you will be skiing and biking but for now we will stick to some hikes. I sent you a hat for all the outdoor activity….it is ALWAYS sunny in Durango. You always
need comfy clothes as well, lots of them. Bring you comfiest jammies and sweats for endless hours of games and talking with our friends…..don’t worry, everyone is friends at Bear Paw…they will all love you. So, I sent you a new outfit, very comfy but also stylish since you will be seeing some of your friends for the first time. (I
know you have been growing a lot lately so if mom doesn’t think these clothes will fit your long body then she can trade them in for new ones)

While you might feel out of place for a moment when you first arrive at Bear Paw, you will quickly feel right at home. (You probably won’t even want to return to your real home afterwords. Just ask Wes…however I don’t think you will be able to weasel your way into an extended stay like Wes can…your mom and dad would miss you too much!). We have all been loving and enjoying Bear Paw for the last
couple years but don’t worry, we were just warming it up for all the Karr/Gates grandchildren. We have found out that it can hold lots and lots of people, so you can bring all your best friends. One day Bear Paw will have lots of people your age….but you have to promise your old friends get to visit…at least every once and a while ;)

Well Beckett, I think I’ve said enough. You will get to experience it all so soon! I cant wait to see you again

Love,
Kerri

Drive-In Movie Night

Tonight we went to see Thor at the drive-in.  Mom and Dad thought it would be good for me since I tend to add my own commentary to movies that not everyone appreciates. I can't understand why. I have very important insights into the plot of the movie that I just want to share. It was pretty great. I got to snug with Mom, especially as it got cold.  We even had a little picnic, but I just got the same stuff I always do.

3 Months!

Yesterday, I turned 3 months old.  It was a pretty good day, except that G.G. left. But I get to see her in Phoenix in a week, so its going to be ok.  We went to a med school party and Dad got to show me off to some friends and a few teachers.  I can only assume I helped up his grade.

At 3 months, I am really bulking up (all muscle of course).  I just started wearing 6 months clothes.  Yes, I am very advanced for my age.  I smile all the time and stick my tongue out when I am really excited.  I am easily entertained, but thats because my parents are just so hilarious.  I still don't sleep for very long at night, 2-3 hours, but thats just because I know my mom would miss me if she went much longer without seeing me.
Lets take a look back at when I was super little.

I think we can all agree that I just get better with age.

First Year of Med School, Check

Today we celebrated Dad's first year of med school being over.  He finished his last final this morning and has a month off before he starts working again.

We went for a long walk.  I wore my shades so I could match Dad.

Then we got all dressed up and went out for a fancy dinner. I must say I looked pretty awesome. Thanks for my outfit Carole.

Sometimes I think my parents have nothing better to do with their time then  take pictures of me. Oh, first time parents. I mean I know I am cute, but really, enough already.

Road Trip

Today, Mom, G.G. and I took off on another big adventure to Tilton, IL.  It was a wonderful place. I went down the street where G.G. grew up and got a tour of the town, fascinating. Then I got to meet more of my family: Aunt Wilma, Virg and Dee!

I haven't known them long, but I know I already love them.  Virg played on the floor with me and made me laugh so hard. Such a fun guy.

I can't wait to go back and visit again soon.

Proud to be born in the USA.

May Day

I celebrated May Day with mom and G.G. We planted so many flowers.
They are kind of pretty I guess. But I can't wait until my dad is done with finals so we can do some manly stuff.
